Big Red Frizzante 2022
Last year, we made a tiny amount (25 cases) of Sparkling Red wine from a hybrid red grape: 100% Regent planted near Bellingham, WA in an organically tended home garden, picked by Nic and our friend Sam.
The wine is inky and mineral, fresh and juicy. A very Nic Coturri wine - gulpable and at the same time more complex than it needs to be. The bubbles are strong but balanced. There’s salinity and dark berry fruitiness. Delicious very cold or nearly at room temp for a soft froth.
We spend an unusual amount of time looking for a really delicious sparkling red, and this is our answer.
