Ship Bay Plum + Pear + Apple 2021

This was perhaps our most psychedelic delightful wine of the year. Whole Italian prune plums, crushed ripe Bartlett pears, and crushed then pressed Kings of Tompkins apples, all cofermented into an electric purple, vibrantly aromatic, mellow bubbly wine. The old plum trees from this site, all volunteers from the original single “mother” tree at the center of the grove, contributed such intense color and flavor we could hardly believe it. The pears with the richness and body, and the apples with thirst quenching character all lent towards a beautiful unexpected bottling.
